APRIL 6 SUNDAY 2 PM "Lords of the Lyceum" at the Independent Christian Church, Middle Street. "Lords of the Lyceum," a play written by award winning playwright David Paul Simon and performed by the Guild Players Touring Company, features the champions of the nineteenth Lyceum movement with the Emersons, Thoreau, and Bronson Alcott.. The play features critically acclaimed actress, Judith Marie Dupree as Lydian Emerson, Dave Simon as Ralph W. Emerson, and Gloucester's own Jay Diprima recreating the character of Henry David Thoreau. John Ronan of the Library's Lyceum Committee will be on hand to announce the kick off the Annual Poetry Without Paper Contest April 6-May 24 for all Gloucester students, K-12.
