I forgot to agree with the kudos for the Riverview. Great pizza, cheap beer. The pizza's are small enough that you can get one for yourself, but big enough that if you can finish it, you are pretty stuffed. I always finish mine, but the wife usually has a few slices left over for lunch the next day (if I don't finish hers too!)

Bridgeside - eat at your own risk. The windows are permanently yellow. I wouldn't think of even entering the establishment. From what I've heard the entire buidling should be condemned.

To set your mind at rest, MissD, YES, I and friends actually walked in there not once, but twice (always believe in giving second chance) - 1st time came out with gummy bottoms of sneakers, 2nd time same...and counters not wiped down. Notice that I have not named establishment. Enough substantiation?? Let us know if you need...

I used to rate delaneys #1 but now lean towards sebastions for some reason. Riverview is great when you have the time. and if someone thinks a place is dirty and needs brightening up and others agree, then it can't be too far off the mark.

Sebastian's is probably my favorite, but we ask for it well done, especially with toppings.

Leonardo's makes a great linguica pizza.

For something different/interesting, we like to get the 'Mexican' pizza from LaRosa's.

I'm pretty sure those were made with anchovie paste.

It was a Sicilian style pizza called sfingiuni.

That may well be but it also had actual pieces of very salty fish on it (and they used a sprinkling of hard cheese --- not gooey mozarella). The guy who ran the place told me that back in "the old country" the local bakeries would let the women of the village use their outdoor brick ovens once they were done for the day. So the women...

I must say I take this pizza thing quite seriously. I grew up in NY and know and love Pizza. There are many versions and all have there merits but the ones listed as "winners" blow!

Not so much, VR. The "point" is that we all throw stuff out here for discussion without substantiation.

The ONLY way anyone reading here would KNOW if it's true that the place is "gross" is to actually walk in there or call the Board of Health, etc., MUCH like the only way (they say) they can know if the "no prayer in the room if your roommate objects" policy is accurate is to call Seacoast or go there themselves and ask.

I've found that the pizza a Cape Ann Pizza in Essex is either really good or really bad. Sometimes, the oil just oozes out of it. I'm not sure if this is just residual oil from the previosu pizzas in the oven or whether ther was too much oil added to the dough that day.

At least they're using a real pizza oven and not one of those conveyor rack systems that some places use.

No one has mentioned Espresso's pizza. It's much like how Papa Gino's used to be...thick soft crust on the edge but thin overall, same type of cheese and a nice not so sweet sauce. I also tried the Sub Zone's pizza for the first time last week. It was yummy...thicker crust with a slightly spicy sauce...very much italian style. It got rave reviews from the entire office and my fussy daughter.
