A backroad in Montana..........driving with my brother one night going from Great Falls to Helena. There was a full moon and it was shining onto fields of pure white snow...........this shimmer and glitter of it was magnificent!!

ANYWHERE on a day like yesterday!!! It's not about the place as much as about the quality of the day and the company you share.... IMHO.

I know what you mean about the Fire Flies, Miss D.... We have that too, in our back yard.. My little girl says it's like fireworks, just for her!!

I think the Mountain View, from my back yard is truly magnificent... I also think the Backshore is too... As are the Shells on Sanibel

This may sound like small potatoes compared to some posts here, but I have to say my brother's house in Maine.

We were standing on his back deck last summer, overlooking the woods and fields, and there were THOUSANDS of fireflies doing a truly magical dance. I've never seen anything like it, and I loved it. It as like being invited to a private showing of nature in action, doing what it does best ...

My choice for nearer to home would be sitting on the steps...

Crane's beach by moonlight. Spent the weekend on the backside of the beach on my boat. walking the shoreline at night with fosphorus in the water like kicking sparks...was truly an awesome moment.

I've seen some truly beautiful places on earth but I would choose two different hospital rooms, one in Va Beach and another in Beverly a few years later. That first look into my children's eyes. Corny but I just can't hep it.

Gotta agree with Global on this. On summer afternoons, I'll bring a book to Lanes Cove and will probably read about 2 pages an hour because I can't stop looking at the beautiful views there.

Agree with B's perception - just happens, any place, any time, and can envelop one with no warning...a moment of magnificence that stays with one throughout their lifetime.

Without a doubt - Koh Phra Nang, Thailand - on the Andaman Sea. When we arrived there by small boat, I thought, if I die now, I have seen the most beautiful place on this earth. (Photo does not do it justice.)

I would have to say...Up on the breakwater. Lanes Cove. Sunset. Some memories too graphic for here. Hope they were never caught by the COVE CAM.

Second would be....Flying over the North Pole years ago with a full moon in the sky. Dead of winter. Awesome. And no cameras could catch it. Truly a mental Kodak moment.

You won't "flunk" if you can't pick just one...and NO, I am not a teacher as someone referenced in an earlier post when they didn't like what I had to...
