Just read on CNN, that the boys in the cult were also abused, raped, and had bones broken. I know it was their religious teachings....but when I look at my kids. Some of which fall in the age ranges of these kids, I want to puke.

First of all, Spinn, I don't believe my thought process is "twisted." I'm of the opinion that had the legal authorities done their jobs decades ago, this wouldn't be happening to this day. Since they didn't do their jobs, I can only assume that they've thought it OK up to this point.

Secondly, the "priests" actions weren't known to the legal authorities. If you call the cardinals and bishops "authorities," yeah, it was known. But...

Gypsy, Thanks for posting the NYTimes article. I'd already read it, but reading it all again, brought further clarity to me, altho I will never understand such treachery and bold faced evil. I hope he gets what he's earned, and doesn't "get off" on some cockeyed mental health plea. His wife, Rosemarie, too.

No Y.........he forced his daughter to write a letter to her mother telling her that she was going a cult..........

Then when "dad" brought the babies home, he had her write another letter telling them that she couldn't raise the baby in compound of the cult because there were too many other children.......or some such drivel..........

Have just realized that Fritzl, 73, freed his 6 imprisoned kids on Tues., 4/29, after the news story, ala the dungeon, broke, but continued to hold his captive daughter, their abused, shattered mother, prisoner, in the underground warren dungeon. Officials went in, found her, and took her out of there. UGH, he continued to make fools of those engaged in enforcing the law.

I've wondered why no one has started a thread about that, oakarina. It certainly has caused outrage throughout the world! I was listening to a BBC report about it. I just started a thread about the child labor issue in China (where much US manufacturing is now done). What is going on in this world??? And being approved of or ignored by way too many people....
