Love for Charlie's. Love for Franklin. Love for Passports. Love for Sugar Magnolias. Love for Duckworth's. One thing that Gloucester has over other towns on the North Shore, is more than its share of great places to eat and drink.

Never was a fan of Charlies - I found the food mediocre at best, but I hope they do well. Surprising they have so many fans here, but then again, this is the board that complained about the food at Lattitude/Alchemy/Dog Bar/Franklin and other great restaurants, so I shouldn't be surprised that Charlie's would be raved about....

Charlies is ok. I can not afford to go to the other restaurants mention above so I can not...

I had a veggie quesedilla in Passports last week and it was amazing. I don't know where they got their tomatoes from, but they tasted almost as good as the ones I used to pick at my CSA in New Hampshire......

I've given Latitude four chances now and have yet to get a good meal or good service. Won't go back again.

I'm hoping they improved their handicapped access. I took a friend in a wheelchair there for lunch one day and had a BITCH of a time getting her in and out. The threshhold was so high I had to lift her chair over it, the ramp so narrow that I couldn't quite make the swing to turn into the door without lifting her some more, and the same thing coming out.

She loves the place ... I don't.

Good luck to them. It's a long haul going thru such trauma, re-organization, and then re-building. The breakfast groups will migrate back, if they keep the prices competetive. Thinking of Charlie and all of his buddies, and their colorful conversations.:)

Yes, they use FROZEN ones, and that is one reason I don't eat them.. besides being FRIED..

my boss won't take the time to cut and hand batter them... She is a Cheap Bitch sometimes
