those are buttons, and very pretty buttons, but they are not vintage buttons. vintage buttons are defined as buttons 25 years old or older. antique buttons otoh are defined as pre-1910

sold the first set of buttons last friday. a pair 3/4" trifoil shape olive green, casein buttons for $8!

I found this button in prussian blue in our collection!
i think ours is casein or bakelite because the sew through is part of the button, not attached to it....

I've been trying to re-organize my sewing room and I came across a huge box of stuff I have been saving to "make something" out of --- lots of beautiful glass, pieces of amber, tumbled stones of labradorite, amethyst and citrine. It was fun sorting through them. I even found stuff that I have no idea where it came from or what it is --- but it's pretty.

Maybe I'll get to use some of it.

That's true.... I'm kinda like that too...

I hate it when I see something, buy it for a project in mind, then when I get it, it just does not seem right...

I did that with a broken plate... I thought i could use it for a Garden Stone Mosaic, but it didn't work right

Now, it's just a even more broken plate sitting in a box

well, I hope you get it soon, I have to go get ready to go to work... Big Day of Scoopin' for...

I'm a big believer in letting things tell me what they want to be!

Sounds like a good deal, Zanny. Let me get the button in hand and see if I can think of anything to do with it but I'm sure I'll come up with something. I just have to actually see it first.

I have several old, worn out silk shirts that my ex had custom made when he went back to Vietnam in the late 70s. The buttons on them are beautiful pearl buttons and I keep thinking I will do something with them.

I have an old Singer Featherweight that belonged to one of my aunts. I've made several quilts on it but now it needs some work. I never know whether to try to fins a repair person for it or just give it away.

Probably not, but we won't care then, Gypsy. We can only do what we CAN do. I'm so pleased that my mother's old Singer peddle driven sewing machine, which had been lost in the depths of an old earthen cellar, is now owned by my neice, who is my mother's first grandchild. She does arts and crafts with country people in the South, and creates markets for them for their handmade wares, in high end US markets, among customers willing to pay "one of a kind," very high...
