Antibiotics are another issue. First, overuse causes all sorts of problems with immunity. Second, some, like Cipro (the quinolone class), cause liver damage,
renal failure, musculo-skeletal disorders, and death - as well as typical side effects such as seizures, convulsions, bleeding, kidney failure, and other
lovely effects.

And, if you have cats, what do you use to clean your floor?...

On another animal note. Do not use a Swiffer (sp?) Wet Jet if you have cats. They walk on the floor and then lick their paws. Supposedly toxic. If you saw my

Actually, I think there is one doctor on the Cape who specializes in Lyme disease. I can ask a coworker his name if folks are interested. My coworker's
brother had Lyme disease that went undiagnosed for years, until he met this doctor as a last resort. Turns out, the doc knew how to treat it. Lyme disease is
not something you get, have it treated once, and then it goes away. Once you have it, you have it for life and it can manifest itself in many different ways.
The bottom line is, if...

Sadly, many of us who have lived here for years probably have undiagnosed Lyme (which can present as all sorts of things, including fibromyalgia). Back in the
70's, Lyme was finally recognized (though it had been around for at least 100 years) but not much was done (and, still today, not much is done - there used
to me Lyme specialists in MA but not anymore). The tests you get in your doctor's office only test for recent infection of Lyme - if you were infected
years ago, it will not...

If you live up in the Lanesville area, ticks are a real problem. I believe Ross Burton was bitten and he was chopping wood in his own yard and was not
necessarily in the woods. A few good squirts of bug spray with deet on the pant cuffs and sleeves, around the neck, etc., should keep the buggers off. I get
tested once a year whether I feel good or not. You DO NOT want to get lyme disease. If you think you may have it, get it looked at ASAP.
