Just trying to inject a little realism into the discussion. The development will certainly produce tax revenue, but overselling it to get the infrastructure costs from the City (while that has worked for decades with the good 'ol boy network) won't do any favors for anyone. The biggest problem we have in the City - and the country, IMHO - is a basic lack of trust in the instruments of government. Sometimes it is for a good reason - like the financial hole we are in now due to...

I was recently invited to a conference in Newburport on this very subject and also attended a briefing by John Tierney on the history of how that happened. If you doubt it, look it up on the web.
