I have met Ted Kennedy. In a very intimate setting and I would have to say that no matter our absolute differences in politics..it was AWE INSPIRING! I sent a pic of he & I to my "far-far to the right" grandma and she framed it and had it hanging on her wall. Remember, she always like to refer to him as one who liked to bloviate.

Video alert of Ted sailing this afternoon. ( I don't know how to post it, but it's on boston.com, if someone who knows how can post it. Ted and his wife, Vicki, sailing out into Nantucket Sound, aboard his old schooner, just after they got back to the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, today. Looks very cold out there...Not bad for a guy just diagnosed with a brain tumor. (Applause)

i read that sentence 4 times..each time i read "Grampy turned into Bat Masterson and didn't live to see the finish" and i thought What the hell am i missing here?

Both of my maternal grandparents died quickly. Grampy tuned into Bat Masterson at 6:30 and didn't live to see the finish. Grammy passed on a Saturday morning. If ya ever met Ted Kennedy , ya might have a more sensitive approach towards the illness he faces. He could be your mother or other close HUMAN CONTACT. A sudden illness in anyones family of friends is not fun.

It is a grim prognosis. My mother died from it. Diagnosis in May, and a funeral in June. And perhaps it was best. She was clear until the the last 36 hours. Not often that I applaud Mya, but we all have to go sometime, and a long bout is no picnic specially for the family.
