Anyone in the area you can recommend? I have a honda 4s that needs some spring 'commissioning' and will only go to Maestranzi as a last resort.

With a small engine, Sparky, I ususally try this first. Empty the old gas and replace with gas fresh from the pump. If this doesn't solve the problem,
replace the spark plug. (Make sure you crank the engine enought to feel confident about having cleared a contaminated fuel bowl.) These 2 steps combined will
cure 99% of small engine troubles, and you will save a bundle.

I have changed the plug and it runs OK but it is revving too high now. I need to f with it some more

Probably running a little rich....Open the air filter, soak the sponge in gas, wring out thoroughly, replace. This time for sure!
