I just added Halibut Point State Park which has much information about the park, park programs and events that are free to the public. The site also has a lot of information about Cape Ann's history and links to many other sites.

I have spent the morning looking through the links and I am very impressed with breadth and depth of the sites. The NSAA blog has lots of useful artist
information and links.
and I really enjoyed the Halibut Point site, it got be thinking about earthquakes here, and the underwater rumblings heard off of Oregon in the past few days. Thank You! Joe Ann Hart's site should be linked to, and The Bookstore! |

I love blogs! I've met the nicest, most interesting people through blogs and learned so much about subjects and places that I find interesting. If there is
something you want to learn more about chances are good there is a blogger somewhere blogging about it. Some of my favorites are a blog by an American lace
knitter who lives in Paris, and a variety of authors' literary blogs.
Thanks for adding to the blog roll!

Another blog that should be added is Peter Anastas's beautiful Walker In The City. It is a lovely blog.
Also, Mary Ellen Lepionka of Atlantic Path Publishing (in East Gloucester) has an excellent blog for educators at: Atlantic Path Publishing Blog You could also add this Family Cookbook Blog if you want to. The author hasn't updated it in awhile (though she intends to) but there are lots of good recipes...

I just talked to Peter and he said he'd love to have his blog posted here... Just in case you needed approval.

Thanks - I'll add Peter's now. I would prefer to get the blogger's approval before I list a blog here.
I'd like to limit this blog roll to blogs that offer a slice of life on Cape Ann. It doesn't have to be all about or about anything specific to Cape Ann - even a resident's personal journal will offer glimpses of life here. Many people have their favorite blogs, like the educators' blog and the recipe blog - I can't list them all here. I did have a suggestion for a very good general kitchen/food blog - I added it to the favorite links Food section. Feel free to add your favorite blogs there.

Note to Gypsy: I did a Yuku forum search for Cape Ann and noticed Cape Ann Salon listed as a Yuku board, but shows no posts. I checked your ezboard and it is
still active. You should contact Yuku - it looks like they neglected to put a redirect on the ezboard. That happened here, but I noticed it within a day or
two of the migration. They can redo the migration so you don't lose your posts. Ezboards will eventually be disabled and if you don't contact them,
you may lose all the data.

Catching up on the blogs in the blog roll. There is a very cool "Self Portrait" on Another Magpie Nest. How'd she do that?

Walker in the City is one of the very best blogs I've read. My problem with blogs is that there are so many good
ones they can take up a lot of time.

I am so impressed with the traffic from the links on this board.
There is lots of great reading out there. I'm finally catching up on Bestseller! fiasco and the recent suit filed on Ms. Daniel's behalf by Orlando Bros Atty, by following the Parlez Moi blog. wow. I am so glad I reconnected here. and I love the Dirty Rotten fish pics in Goodmorning Gloucester! Thank you Capt Joey! |

There is lots of great reading out there. I'm finally catching up on Bestseller! fiasco and the recent suit filed on Ms. Daniel's behalf by Orlando Bros Atty, by following the Parlez Moi blog. wow. If anyone questions the value of blogs the entire Defonseca hoax owes its exposure to four bloggers (2 in the US and 2 in France) and a forensic genealogist (who found out about the story by reading blogs). For 10 years people had been trying to "bust" that story --- including journalists in Belgium where it is supposed to have taken place. But it wasn't until the bloggers and the genealogist got together and started supplying their various pieces of the puzzle to the world that the journalists in Europe were able to put the pieces of the puzzle together and the hoax was exposed leading to Defonseca's confession. There are several articles forthcoming in various magazines about this whole, amazing process. In fact, I'm going to a meeting this afternoon about the media aspect of all this. As to the lawsuit, the complaint has been filed and the wheels are in motion. Joe Orlando is a friend but I have always known him as a fellow writer more than as an author. But seeing how he works has been fascinating. He certainly did an impressive job drafting the complaint (which is online at Distribution Media). The results remain to be seen but month by month more and more instances of fraud perpetrated by this woman --- both in Europe and in the US --- are being brought to light. I'm glad you read the story, elli. It is still unfolding but I have to say that the three months (Jan, Feb, Mar of this year) while it was coming to a climax were unbelievably exciting. I felt like I was living inside of a movie. As the Folly Cove Fiber Freaks say, "Blog on!"

Oh, and as to elli's reference to the increase in traffic --- ParlezMoiBlog averages about 150 visitors a day. That has gone up to 165 since being listed
here so a 10% increase is great. I see 10-12 click-thoughs from here every day. I also get click-throughs from the Magpie's Nest and from Capt. Joe! Blog
rolls benefit everyone.

The North Shore Arts Association will be opening on May 11 for the season. On May 18 there is an awards ceremony for the first exhibition. I've been
invited to give a talk on using blogs to market and promote your work. It is free and open to the public.
You are all invited!
