Think the Dems are a shoo-in in November? |

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918

Anyone who's keeping their eye on this crazy show should realize the grand finale isn't in place yet...and, indeed, may not be so grand. See above.
Excellent article LWN - better than most. Will pass it along... "you can not change what you do not acknowledge." |

I sincerely doubt they are ... and I haven't read the article yet.........
True art is moral: it seeks to edify life, not to debase it, to hold off, at least
for a little while, the twilight of the gods and of us.

Yes, I've always felt anyone who could say "Hope" and "Change" and look wistful and thoughtful would make an excellent president.
(PS I'm an independent.)

Geez, the guy has an instantly schmoozable mug. Unlike Hillary, who has 10,000 mugshots.

I am completely shell shocked at the lack of depth in the candidate' "policy" statements, the sound bites they produce to feed the short attention span in this country, and the fact that most Americans vote based on 1) party of choice (no matter the candidate), 2) a 'feeling I get when I listen to him/her speak', or 3) I just want someone new. That is how these vapid campaigns are designed and produced. A candidate need not have experience or ability if they can style and pose and ladle up the pablum. People spend more time (and interest) researching a car purchase than they do choosing a president. It's depressing.

Do you have a visceral reaction to any of the candidates? If not, maybe opt out of this one. I think it'll be a body shot from left field.

Obama is chipping away...
If Ohio and Texas weren't already must-win states for Hillary Clinton, they certainly are now. Barack Obama continued his streak with wins in Wisconsin, Hawaii and Washington. John McCain widened his lead in the GOP contest. Obama/Clinton debate on CNN Thursday 2/21 at 8 PM. |
