Anyone who even gets NEAR a burning vehicle, nevermind tries to rescue someone from it, is one brave sucker in my book.
The potential for further explosion (because of the gas tank) is huge and, with it, the potential for losing one's life. What would you have done, Y? Would you have been cool, calm and collected? Would you have gone toward the burning vehicle or run the other way? Whatever you/we may think of Lamberis, he put his life on the line, as did the other two officers. For that they ALL should be commended, not ridiculed. |

I have a friend on the force and he was working that morning. He said that the Lamberis "screaming like a girl" story is a crock. He said he was not
out of control but contrarily completly in command of the situation. People need to lighten up. The man was doing his job.

In regards to Officer Lamberis, not many peole know this but he is well trained on burn victoms, beside perimedic training he was a volunteer for Shriners
Burns Hospital in Boston, both in the hospital and also many past parades. Agreed Steve has made many mistakes in the past , as we all have , nobody is
perfect. The Police situation was created by stupidity and misguidance within that department
I am sure that all those who were there will be honored equally as knowing Steve he would want it no other way.It seems to me that the gdt times has rather approached this as sensationalism.particularly when it came down to officer Lamberis.
