First think Kirk should do is have IT find all employees who post here OTJ and give them a warning and then fire them after that. |

From what I read in the Times article, they are in fact mutually working towards meeting nationally accepted standards as outlined in a previous management
audit of the fire department. There was no mention of fire stations closing "for good". If in fact they are working together towards a common goal
that will serve the public better, I see no breach of integrity by city employees. As usual, Y has her head up her ass. Why not so quick to defend the Mayor
now Y?

I believe the intent is to fully staff the apparatus when funding allows but to keep the outskirt stations open as much as possible. I've heard the firemen
have been polled and they are against closing the outskirt stations even temporarily, as Mayor Kirk has proposed.

Its about time that city hall stops dicking around and decides what level of fire protection they want to provide for the city and then fund it ! Stations
open one day and closed the next is not fair to anyone and has only served to create chaos. Sell Magnolia station if need be, but make a decision and then
live withit !

I think the idiots and the drunks create 75% of the medical calls not fire calls. What would you do to fix the problem? Cancel Fiesta, close the West End Barrooms and build a de-tox center and a drunk tank? |

Newsflash: fires aren't only started by drunks and idiots. Maybe in your old town where you cam from, but here in Gloucester, we've experienced fires
started from numerous types of sources.
