Then an herb garden arrived,with a grow light. You lay the seeds on the prepared soil bed, already fertilized, add water, keep inside, until things warm up a bit. Will see how it goes under a skylight. Pretty soon the plants are ready to harvest for all your salads, soups, stews, or just to enjoy seeing, and getting fragrant whiffs.

The age old crucuses are up, on the eastern side, of the house across the st. They were ordered by a former owner, waaaay back in 1923. She left the original invoice, about $20, from a hardware store.

Those were the days, before Rocky Neck Ave. was a roadway, and was just a dump, or "tip." It was made into a roadway in 1923, acc. to fill permits from the Army Corps of Engineers, or whatever its predecessor was named. Children had to wait for the tides to be low enough to get over to E. Main St., sloshing across the mud flats, in boots with those funny old buckles.
