I saw the CUTEST dog ever on the Boulevard the other night... She was rescued from Puerto Rico, and was half Black lab, half Bassett Hound.
I will always go for the rescued dogs over the pure breeds, any day!! |

i've seen that dog too zanny... everyone is out in full force with this weather, lots of dogs. i think squig said her dog was an import from Puerto Rico.
my 12 yr female doesn't fare well with this warm weather with her double coat. she won't get much walking in now until fall.

homeless children also. my heart goes out to human and furry society discards. cnn had an article last week on a thai boy roughly 8 yr who had lived most of
his life in a dumpyard with a group. identity unknowns who feared being rounded up as refugees.

There was a pug tied up in the wind-protected blazing sun yesterday at Faniuel Hall. Panting like Hell. I'd like to see some of the owners tied up without
water for extended periods of time. (Or locked in cars with the windows up in August, while Fido and Princess go shopping at PetCo.)

someone complained to the police last fall that my dogs were in danger in the car in the evening with the heat. i know they meant well, but it was a cool
evening, the windows were down a few inches and i wouldn't have left them otherwise. i guess i would rather that someone take notice and take action even
if these circumstances didn't merit it. very cruel to leave a dog out in the heat, i complained to good harbor beach attendants one time after observing
that someone had their dog leashed to their car (leash inside car with door shut on it. even for a short time, that's just crazy behavior!
