Keejo, I'll check out your site, thanks. I've begun posting a few recordings here, and the members have been very patient about it! To post a song
here, it will first need to be an mp3, and will need to be loaded on an internet server which will allow it. I bought space for this, but there are probably
free sites like this.
The code is: [embed src="URL" width="375" height="27" autostart="false"] (Don't use the [ ] brackets, use the <> type) Replace the URL with the full internet address of your song. Be sure to include the "autostart" statement or you'll piss off working people, as the song will start as soon as the thread is opened. Also, be sure to click the "HTML" icon over the reply window (it will turn yellow) before you enter the code. Good luck!

Sigurdr, this magnet school is one of many in an urban, struggling school system. It can be done. PM me if you're interested in more info.
We Americans are so damned ethnocentric that it's really hurting us in all aspects---social, economic, cultural. Look at all the major world nations where more than one language being spoken is almost universal. We're about the only idiots who think everyone should speak only one. It's so ignorant on our part. OH, that's so true about music in other languages. You don't even have to understand the words to get it. Man, that Martin is a honey. Many, many years ago when I was into folk music and played around with it a little bit, I owned an older Martin. It was magnificent. Brings back memories. So who's the top of the list on the local jazz scene these days? I was impressed by Alex Razdan when I saw him a few months ago. |

I'll bet you most of the xenophobes who bristle at the sound of other languages are borderline illiterates. At least most of the ones I bump into are.
They're the last people to be whinging about the Engrish Langrage... To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

If any of you "lapsed" musicians are out there, there's always an outlet for concert band players with the Rockport Legion Band. I just found a
copy of the Khatchaturian "Armenian Dances" (take that, xenophobes!) that I hope to do this summer -- right next to the Beatle tunes.

Yes! -- that's Armenian dancing. Our arrangement (by a well-known Armenian composer, by the way ) is a little more interesting, though.
We plan to play it right next to the Beatle tunes. http://capeannonline.yuku.com/domain/bypass/images/thumbsup.gif http://capeannonline.yuku.com/domain/bypass/images/thumbsup.gif |
