Has anyone been to Alchemy yet? What's the new menu like? Anyone know if it's open Easter Sunday?

After hearing the story about one of Alchemys bartenders chasing someone down and embarrassing a regular customer over a tip I scratched off that place as a
place to be. Not that they would allow me in anyway.

I had lunch there a few months before they closed for renovations. It was really good food, and they were very attentive to our needs. I also really liked
the atmosphere, as compared to other Gloucester places to eat lunch. I'm not sure if anyone else has this little complaint, but I find some of the
restaurants in town to be dirty looking, and therefore, not too enticing. Basic upkeep of a place is so important, and not keeping bathrooms clean and picked
up is like my big pet peeve. When you go in a ladies room and it smells like a room full of urinals!, there's a basic cleaning and sanitizing issue.
Anyway, Alchemy was a very nice place.

Went to the Dog Bar last night, what a little hidden gem that place is, the food was absolutely fantastic, so was the atmosphere and the bartender and
waitress. All around A+.

One of my biggest complaints about Alchemy has always been the lack of soundproofing. With all that hard surface, it's often really impossible to have a
conversation over dinner without megaphones. I'm hoping they've corrected that in the renovations. I've had the same complaint about Lobsta Land,
actually. It does keep us from going to either place unless it's an "off peak" time. Has the menu changed?

The menu has changed some..but much is the same. Took out ol pizza oven...current pizza not as good, more conventional. New Bar much better, construction changes look like they were confined to kitchen and bar...food still excellent! |
