I agree with Rick...with whom I sat at the event. Whatever my own feelings regarding some of the nuances of the issue and debate - all the people involved
should be praised and supported.
if there was one thing that stuck with me, hearing from a couple of the students our little group spoke to, it was that whatever the policy may be at the high (or any other) school...it must be applied without favour. It should not matter one bit if you are the unpopular, eye-lined goth kid or everyone's favourite track or hockey star - NO FAVOURITISM. When the rules are applied inequitably, you instantly lose respect from the kids. |
