There's a big difference between "a business that is located in Gloucester" and "a Gloucester-owned business." Erika Hanson had some figures on this last year, and I hope that somebody can find them, but the point is clear: spending money at a locally-owned business is much better for the local economy than spending it at a chain store that happens to be located in Gloucester.

And when Gloucester-owned businesses get their act together...we'll all be doing all our shopping with them.

Well, the work has begun on Gloucester Crossing. I just drove my son to baseball practice at Green Street and you couldn't get in through Fuller School. There is a long green fence all the way around the Fuller field, with a small opening at the end of Trask Street to walk through. They have started building a road where the turn off is to the former junkyard and there are a bunch of heavy equipment trucks there.

Thanks for the update, although some on here will not be so thankful. Hurry up NIMBY's alert the militia there is still time..........

Hope its "upscale" enough for you. I just hope it succeeds and were not left with a empty lot.
