As oil and gas prices rise, how does that affect your summer plans? |

Big pain at the pump, especially for boat fuel. RV's and mobile homes feeling the pinch, too. Are we all cutting back or did we save enough over the winter
to power our gas-guzzling monsters for another season? Are you going on a long trip this season?

With fuel prices the way they've been, I can't imagine anyone was able to "save" anything toward summer fun!
I know I sure haven't! Just driving back and forth to work is taking a financial toll, nevermind actually going anywhere.

Lots of suppliers are adding a fuel surcharge to bills these day. Have you noticed that?

I plan on going out fishing same as it ever was. I have a sippy cup efficient engine and do a lot of wading anyway. A canoe is also hanging on my barn which
should see some more use when its prudent. If you live in Essex you are already on vacation, no?
When in doubt, twirl.

You're an Essex bum, no doubt.

Luckily most of my entertainment depends on sails and oars. It will have an impact on my outboarding with the grandkids but pretty minor because most of the
time we just steam out of Lanes Cove and then stop and drift and play with the babies and their lobster trap.

Some friends were talking about this the other day. The thought was that they'd continue their summer plans and make up the difference by things like
Netflix vs. going to movies at the theater, eating out less, spending less on non-essentials. So in other words, that passes along the costs to other local
businesses. Thank you, GWB.

The sinners are much more fun... |

According to Roxie's 311 Facts, the QE II/Mary only moves six inches per gallon.

Tony Tally's on Essex Avenue has started selling those little mo-peds because of the gas prices. I guess they're selling pretty well, too.

I think she meant Virginia...
I want one of those Mopeds too, but I seriously doubt it could handle the hills coming up my road..... |
