This great weather has made me crave our family's summer ritual: fried fish + french fries, ice cream, and throwing rocks at Cressy's beach.

Memorial Day?!?!?! I can't wait that long! I remember them opening in late April last year, but of course that could be just another wildly inaccurate

Its still early guys. It just FEELS like summer is around the corner. We still have lots of time....but it will be getting better every day. I put on a bathing
suit today and am hoping for a very sloooowwwww onset of beach weather. I have got to get it under control.

Martin, if you need your fix of fried seafood, i would recommend Essex Seafood on 133 (right over the Essex line). Top notch food, huge portions, I always
split the seafood combo with the wife and have extra. I like it better than the other places further into town, less crowded usually as well.

Sigurdr, thanks for the tip. I have eaten at Farnham's, The Clam Box, and of course Woodman's.
But there is something about the ritual of the Cupboard that is calling out to me. Our favorite part is sitting on Cressy's beach, eating our ice cream, watching the Thomas E. Lannon sail by, and sometimes fire its cannon. PS This year, I'm bringing my camera to take a picture of the large onion rings. Anybody who thinks they are overpriced has clearly never ordered a large. |
