Here's my question-If the city claims it does not have the money to send out a simple postcard with one stamp on it to the OTHER 3600 dog owners in this city what is the city REALLY losing??? 3600x$22.50 per dog is $81,000.00 (assuming again that all would pay, and we know that this is not possible, but what if 1/2 paid that is still $40,500.00). Again what would the price be to have someone make up 3600 additional postcards, place a stamp on them (I'm assuming that the postage could not be more than $.40 per card ($1,440 total amount in postage for all 3600 cards, the card itself costs roughly $.30 and the person copying, stamping and sending these cards will need to be paid a salary.) Are you starting to see the picture? I can't understand it. Why oh why would the city let this amount fly right out the window??? I blame the city. I don't blame the hardworking people behind the counter. They were polite, and eager to assist and get you in and out in a quick amount of time.
I have one more question-As a dog owner of more than one dog, I feel as though people who have the same responsibility as I have been given the green light not to pay. Will they be charged?? Are you going to send out late bills?? What will the cost to print, stamp and send those late fees be??? Something is not right.. I hope that Mayor Kirk takes a look at this thread.
I would like to ask who decided to demand from a certain few??? Aren't we all responsible for licensing our dogs? When were the people who only have one animal excluded from their responsibilities to license theirs?? The postcards difinitely worked as there was a long line of people waiting to pay $22.50 per dog the last week. This one has gone to the dogs!
