Again I will state for the record that I am for any project that can get through the permitting process.

I would just like to point out a couple things for folks to chew on.

The people that screamed and jumped up and down that the Paint Factory needed to be saved and preserved as an icon are silent.

The people that screamed that there would be too much traffic on Rocky Neck with 6 condos are silent.

Mission

Ocean Alliance is dedicated to the conservation of whales and our ocean environment through research and education. We combine scientific research with global, from-the-field education as a means of improving humanity's understanding of ocean life, the crucial importance of conserving it and inspiring awareness in children through hands-on, interactive science learning.

It would be way beyond ironic if the folks that tear down the Paint Factory to build a tax exempt research facility put our lobstermen and fishermen out of business to save the whales.

Again for the record I am all for someone that wants to invest dollars in Gloucester.

I just want to make sure the hypocrites that screamed about the traffic before and saving the structure of the Paint Factory are called out on it the next time they play the obstructionist card on a project funded with private dollars by entrepreneurs trying to make a living.

Some whale groups have lobbied long and hard to stop commercial fishing in areas. They have powerful lobbies.

I don't know the folks from Ocean Alliance. I hope they aren't one of these groups.

Hey, who knows, maybe they will work within the same footprint of the Paint Factory and keep the lettering on the outside just like the people that would have put in the condos.

I guess until we hear from them it's all speculation anyway.
