Gloucester is not what it was, and it's a damn shame it has become what it is.

Mayor Kirk is between a rock and a hard place. As I see it Gloucester has four huge problems, salaries, benefits, pensions and unfunded mandates. The first
three can only increase exponentially over the next several years as more City employees retire. She might be able to squeeze some more money out of the State
for the last one but I wouldn't count on it during a recession. The City has to be allowed to raise some money other than property taxes, maybe a meals tax
or a hotel tax. This is where our local politicians should be leading the charge but the silence on their part is deafening.

The city should have passed a debt exclusion over 20 years in order to pay for the CSO. It should have also banned GPD from it's ridiculous lucrative road
details. They are doing a lousy job and costing millions $$$$. Instead the few people who have sewer are paying $$$$$$$$$ for the project. People you are being
fucked by the landowners and the cops. Welcome to Glosta - go fuck yaself.

Question. How come the City has not forced the people along Essex Ave and those neighborhoods up over Stanwood to connect. I was at West Parish the other day
and a guy was saying that he would not connect until they forced him. Hasn't it been over three years. In Lanesville we had no choice. We had to connect
and it was expensive. The Wheelers Point people had only one year to do it. Whats the deal?
