And you'd know about "chubbys," wouldn't you, Turn. Have you seen your ass from behind lately???You swallowed that one fast enough, MissDumpy. It must have applied to you, eh?
You're a tool.

Dimples, i'm always interested in healthy diet snacks...please tell me what Ryvita products you've tried and the ones you like best...have you tried
the Goodness fruit bars?

And who else would it have been directed at, Turn? Do you think nobody has noticed your intense need to take jabs at me whenever possible? C'mon now ...

Squig ... My absolute favorite is the Fruit Crunch. It's a little bit sweet, a lot crunchy, and tastes yummy with a little bit of butter spray in the nooks
on the tops.
I also like the rye varieties, but don't like the "light" ones. It's too much like munching air. And no, I haven't tried the Goodness bars. Who makes them and where do you find them? Are they crunchy? I'm a crunch kinda girl ... |

I agree with Dimps on the produce at MB in Danvers. I have always said there is a quick turn over in their produce department because a lot of people that shop
there are ones that use a lot of that stuff. Latin Americans, Asians etc.
However, I find the produce at Market Basket in Rowley to be old and limp. We went there once or twice and won't go back again..Danvers has better quality. The problem is, you can't get around the aisles easily because there is always so many people shopping there (a lot from Gloucester) and the workers are constantly blocking the aisle while stocking the shelves. Takes a little longer to get the shopping done, but the savings is worth it. |

I forgot about the store in Rowley. My visits are to the Danvers store, and I'm very happy with the selection there.
If you go in the early evening on a weekday, the store is yours to roam. Why anyone would go on a weekend unless there was some kind of insane food emergency I have no idea! |

i like the Middleton store...i hit Trader Joe's on the way then stop for cheapER (not cheap) gas on Rt.62 and Farmer Browns as well if i couldn't get
good fruit Market Basket.
what happened to the days when kids used to stock the grocery shelves over night, when the stores were closed....that pisses me off too, F.G. Dimples...i have never seen Goodness bars...i only know what i read here but i'll be on the lookout for them now...

Star...I am so with you on the shelf stocking. You can barely get down the aisle at MB for all the trolleys and carts and wagons full of food. And just try to
go to the bathroom and make the merge back into the grocery. Its like waiting on a traffic light.

squig, I buy the RyVita Rye and Oat Bran, Dark Rye, and the Rye and Sesame. I think the fruit one is a little too sweet for my taste. Personally, I love them
with a little mustard spread on them --- very crunchy, loaded with fiber, very low in carbs. One of my friends eats them with cream cheese. I also like them
with a slice of lean corned beef, a little sauerkraut and some cheese. Pop under the broiler for a minute and it makes a quick, crunchy, little Reuben-like
treat.

I'm not counting carbs, but more have a goal of good health (the whole back incident this winter has me totally refocused) and caloric intake secondly
(they kind of go hand-in-hand). The Fruit Crunch has 50 calories per slice, and the other varieties hover around 35 per slice. They are, indeed, a good source
of fiber, and are tasty with most anything.

I need to start counting carbs. My ass is expanding at an alarming rate. I could, of course, put my ass on the treadmill that sits directly in front of me
every day....but that would be too easy.

Dimps, just curious....have you lost any weight by changing your eating habits?
(This question is for Dimps, everyone else just mind your own business and keep the comments to yourself ok?) Thank you. |

C'mon now ...Oh, MissDumpy, you've got me confused with your reflection! But...back to the "jab"...you keep THINKING they're for you and, like the definition of stupid, keep falling for them. You're just too easy. |

Yes, For, I have. I'm actually almost thinner than I've been in about 20 years.
Cutting out "white" food has made a difference in not only how I look, but how I feel. I have energy to spare and am always looking for something to "do" to release some of it. Oddly enough, even after a day of working I come home and find stuff to do. |
|||

OK. So how do you cut out white food.? Like rice, bread, dairy? Does cheese count? Can you list the foods you eat during the day. I heard you feel much better.

I listed above what I eat, Global. As to cutting out "white" food, it's pretty easy. Instead of "white" potatoes, substitute sweet
potatoes; instead of white rice, have brown rice; instead of white "enriched" bread, have whole grain bread (the first ingredient should be listed as
whole grain. If it says anything about being "enriched," don't eat it.)
Beyond the above, don't eat much of anything that's "man made." If man, rather than nature, has had a hand in its creation, chances are it's not really good for you, as in it's full of sodium, sugar, fat, etc. There is an exception to that, of course, in Kashi entrees. They're made with awesome whole grains and taste really good. Generally, the rule is to keep it simple, focus on what Nature provides, and shop the outer aisles of the grocery store rather than the middle aisles. |
