I will row over to the Maine line at Appledore Island and fetch lunch for Muffy. I can see it from the attic window.

If we can all find a way to boat over to Ten Pound Island, that would be a hoot, take over the beach at low tide.

That movie was interesting, with Sean Penn and Elizabeth Hurley. The critics hated it, I loved it.

Excellent book - better book than movie - "The Weight of Water".
Don't walk in front of me, I don't follow. Don't walk behind

Clambake Ten Pound July 4th? | ||
|
In the 1800's, Rocky Neckers and others used to have a huge clambake over at 10 lb., on July 4th, and most everyone rowed over, weather depending. Later
they'd light a huge bonfire as would other higher elevation n'hoods Top of Highland St.; Commonwealth Ave. Clarendon St. Then they'd all signal
each other, after dark, tossing wet blankets on the fires, intermittently for a few seconds.
Not everyone returned home on July 4th from Ten Pound as the parties kept going all night and spirits got merrier. From what we hear, from previous centuries, a few mermaids appeared the following winters, but the species died out, near the Eddystone light.
Rogers and Hammerstein's late '40's downeast musical "Carosel" has a fun song."This was a real nice clambake; We're awfully glad we came; the vittles we ET were good, and yet, the company was the same," Enoch, a bass, would sing, ''Remember when we raked them red hot lobsters out of the driftwood fire. They sizzled and crackled and sputtered
a song, fittin' for an Angel Choir. We'd split 'em down the back and pepper 'em good, and douse 'em in melted butter. We tore away the
claws and cracked 'em with our teeth, cuz we weren't in a mood to putter.(Slow dirge tempo) "Then at last came the clams, , steamed under rockweed, and poppin' from their shells. Just how many of
'em galloped down our gullets, we couldn't say ourselves. Repeat chorus, "This was a real nice clambake".
