Roundup
I'd rather laugh with
the sinners than cry with the saints
The sinners are much more fun... |

Roundup kills weeds and people dead.

Vinegar - straight from the bottle. Works. But, drown 'em while they're young...
Will NOT kill woody bad stuff like poison ivy... Don't walk in front of me, I don't follow. Don't walk behind
me, I don't lead.

Tried vinegar. Tried salt. Tried salt and vinegar. Until napalm is available over the counter, I heart ROUNDUP.
Somebody knock me out and wake me up in time for the first frost, please.

I was a mover for Monsanto's ad agency in NYC in the mid-eighties. I asked Marty, the traffic director, what he thought of Monsanto's PR effort with
Roundup. "Lies, all lies!" he said.

I shoulda been more specific. I meant Monsanto denying Roundup had any effects on humans.

Oh heavens yes, wear gloves, the whole 9 yards.
But I do that when I use Draino, or lye, or bleach. Just makes sense. The big 'thing' to remember about Roundup is "spray drift". I had raspberry canes that went to hell in a handbasket just for being in the vicinity....hard lesson learned.

I am convinced after using roundup near a hedge at my previous house that if the roots are mingled underground, the plant you are not aiming at will suffer
when its mingled mate is hit.
I actually put a big sheet of plywood between the plant I wanted to kill and the one I wanted to keep, and the one I wanted to keep was pretty well defoliated although it did survive and come back the next year. Damon

And those results are for plants, not humans.

Used RU only once - on PI - and was terrified the entire time...kept cats inside until the next rain! Wouldn't have used it, but all PI has to do is wave a
leaf at me, and I'm a goner...

I love Round Up...
But when I use it, it means a day without a breeze, and that means being chewed up by Black Flies, unless, of course I am doused in Bug Spray.. Oh well, at least my gardens look Kick Ass!! |

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

LWN has the right idea. Herbicides leave rotten dandelion corpses that you'll have to bend over aand pick anyway.
Salt works great inbetween bricks where you can't get at the root systems. |

Don't use any. Barring the fact that I prefer to go barefoot, I don't imagine it does the environment any good - not to mention the animals.
