I think you were the first one... very svelte!
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

I also had the rare occasion to dine out the last two evenings, both birthday dinners, and my daughter is doing the cooking tonight for Mother's Day.
Friday night we went to the Gloucester House, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The last time I was there (pre-renovation), I hated it. The service was good, the atmosphere very nice looking out over the harbor, and the food was very good, as well. The shared Coconut shrimp appetizer was moist inside and ultra crispy and coconutty outside, the salad had a nice variety of greens and veggies, the steak was tender and done as I asked, etc. The meal also offered a beginner of smoked fish spread and crackers and a bread basket with rolls and cornbread, neither of which I ate, but was told both were good. Last night was the Azorean, my very favorite place. We shared an appetizer of perfectly fried calamari. My son had the grilled octopus entree, which I tried, and it was very different but good. His girlfriend had Shrimp Fantasia, which is always good, and I had the Atlantis, a grilled combo of shrimp, scallops, haddock, monkfish and calamari, all with a spicy sauce over it. The only part I didn't like was the calamari because it wasn't really "grilled" but more steamed and rubbery, IMO. The rest, however, was fabulous! And of course their fabulous fruity olive oil and bread is the main reason I love the place!! Overall, both were excellent meals accompanied by great service and reasonable prices. |

Zoe's Tapas is a culinary adventure for the discrimating palate. With seven weeks of experience , the menu is an ambitious array of introductory
selections, that will undoubtably be pruned to the preferences of their regular diners over time. I went to this eatery with a family group of adults and
tweeners in the very early dinner hours with a roomful of similar groups in the spacious, well appointed hearth-like dining area. We all agreed, this is a
place to which we will return.

The Shrimp Fantasia is half a dozen very lighted breaded and fried large shrimp, seasoned with whatever they use, atop a bed of garlicky, creamy linguini with
a lemony overtone. It's divine, but heavy on the calories.

Anyone been to the Rudder yet? Always good for visiting guests. Hoping they have a new menu. It has never inspired me.

My friend ate at Azorean sometime over the weekend. He said it was awesome and the prices were reasonable. He had the baked stuffed shrimp and said they were
the best he had ever had. They have a funky wine list also with lots of Portugese wines on it.

the Azorean is the perfect example of a restaurant that didn't start of so great...but, listened to it's customers worked out the kinks and became one
of the better restaurants in town.....good on Deo...
I'd rather laugh with

The Azorean -- for its atmosphere, selections, wonderful flavors, pricing, etc. -- is my very favorite restaurant anywhere right now.
It's unique in a whole lot of very good ways ... |
