Fly Point many summers....every summer I'd go there was one less guy. They would spend all winter building whatever the latest fad was,,,hot rods,
motorcycles, etc. Then spring would come and one would buy a tree.
I stayed in a friend's place that was granted to his family by King George. Great clamming but not much for fishing from shore. Logging was about the only summer job back then. The biggest employer in the state of Maine was the state of Maine. Even back then you would find little conclaves of runaway Massachusetts residents. Almost all the residents of Freedom came from Lynn. Came to the conclusion I was better off in Canada. |
