I just picked up an order of teriyaki steak tips (one skewer), rice pilaf, fresh baby asparagus, fresh hot bread and butter for $8.39 at The Blue Marlin
Grille. Get there before 4pm and get a good deal.

I know there has been a lot of talk (this year and last) of the ridiculously expensive onion rings at the cupboard, but their fried fish sandwich, at $4.50 is
definitely a deal. They do a great job with the buttered and toasted bun, and you usually get 2 nice pieces of sole, 1 folded in half makes the sandwich, and
the other is like a bonus.

Mike's on Railroad Ave. has really delicious pasta dishes for around six bucks. They also have humungus calzones that can feed an army. They are also very,
very good. Mike's is very clean (important to me).

The Causeway, the plate, whatever you get, is always more than one meal.

But did they replace the rug yet?

Doubt it. That place hasn't ever been updated. It's antiquated.

That rug was way nasty two years ago. It must have been replaced at least once. Why have rugs?

Golden Arches: $1 double cheeseburger. You'll be dead by dinner, but hey whaddya want for a buck?
The Village Rest. in the storied and mythical village of Essex has great midweek specials in the off season. Like $10 - $12. Prinzi's Pizza in Beverly has 2 slices and a can o' soda (Dr. Pepper!) for $3.25. Deal!
When in doubt, twirl.

It was the Golden Arches that caused my bout of baby shits at 3am the other night...

All good suggestions so far.
I'd add- I'd like to throw Passports in for relative value. The food is fantastic, creative and priced right. Sclafani sangies and pizza slices are a bargain. $13.99 lobsters at Topside is a good deal for a sit down joint. I heard the latest folks that took over Uncle Moe's are putting out some good cheap grub, but I haven't been yet. Mike's Place has a $5.99 large "special" pizza that is a pretty good deal. |

Depot Restaurant (formally Steve's) has the best hamburger in town. $4.00.

Joey is right, and it's The Corner Cafe where Unkie Moe's used to be. I've been a few times and like it, bit of an Azorean flavor.

Supreme Roast Beef has an awesome chicken kabob salad. Will easily feed a couple of kids. $6. And there roast beef is every bit as good as Kelly's and
cheaper by a buck or two.

Camerons had a lasagna special for $5.00 today and it was awesome!

But Supreme Roast Beef isn't open for the after bar crowds, when they could make some fat cash....
at least on Tuesdays they aren't |

The old Moe's is now a new restaurant. Forget the name. Heard it was total comfort foods and very family friendly. And cheap. Might be a good place to try
for takeout.

See my post above, global.
I've heard many local restaurants have been hit with up to 40% price increases since last year. How do they deal with that reality? Either raise prices or lower portions, or both. |

Thanks for the update. I obviously had no idea.
I saw the place was open as I drove past today, which I thought puzzling. They never used to be open Mondays. |
