I have met six people from this board and they are all so nice. I think the majority of us would get along, it's harder to be argumentative in person
rather than behind a screen name. JMO

Still waiting...
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

I'm in shock. DIMples publickally claims she has a "pet" name for me and WER publickally admits I have "gotten under his skin". I
don't know which creeps me out more.
Still waiting... You will be for a very, very long time... I forgot I met newfie --- she's a sweetheart. Oh well, it was a gorgeous weekend and I got to visit with a couple of the nicest posters here so I have no complaints.

for a little while, the twilight of the gods and of us.

This thread, again - solidifies my belief and thanks that I don't know, nor have any interest in, knowing any of you in person. Sounds more like a high
school bathroom wall fight...
You guys really got to get out more. |

Why is that when you are pointedly ignoring certain people they keep trying desperately to get you to address them and then whine that they are being
"stalked"? Is it that they are too stupid to differentiate between comments made to everyone and comments made to themselves or are they just that
desperate for attention?
Okay, that's all I have to say on the subject...

So, when you ignore them, the only avenues left to them are to stalk you incessantly, and to claim over and over again that you are sniping at them. Now, you and I both know you used to do that, but you've been remarkably restrained for quite some time now... too bad they can't follow your lead... Sometimes you just have to wait when people are doing something BESIDES hanging on every word from the crazies on the local message board! You know ... having
a LIFE!!
You have a big case of selective reading, Lefty-Lou ... EVERY single time she posts she refers to me as MissDIMples ... Much like YOUR Miss Pimples ... regardless of whether I'm addressing her (or you) in my post. Such fifth-grade behavior, yet so unobserved by the likes of you two ... I have nothing to prove to either one of you (why waste my time proving anything to those who will not see). Grow up, Lefty, get a job and a hobby besides insulting people you don't even know. At least I've met Gypsy and decided she's not the kind of person I want to know based on her OWN behavior in the "real" world.

Dear Lefty, while I appreciate your gallantry on my behalf, I think you might as well give it up. She can't find such an example because
there isn't one so spare yourself the aggravation. You're a good guy.
At least I've met Gypsy and decided she's not the kind of person I want to know based on her OWN behavior in the "real" world. And now, ladies and gentlemen, for your entertainment pleasure (and because I am procrastinating about working on another job) I will recount:
The Full & Complete Story of the Historic Dimples-Gypsy Lunch Encounters (Ta-DAA!)
MissDimples (notice how restrained I am being despite the fact that she routinely calls me by her idiotic "pet" name)
continually claims that she wants nothing to do with me based on the fact that she says I used the horrible, gross, and awful f-word in a public restaurant. It
is true. I did. This is how it happened:
After years of message board dueling I emailed MissDimples and suggested we meet for lunch. She had just lost her husband and I sent my condolences and thought maybe we could meet and iron out our differences. We agreed to meet at LobstaLand. Lunch #1: We both arrived and were on our very best behavior. Over a delicious lunch of I-can't-remember-what everything went well. Dimples told me that she had joined Match.com and proceeded to tell me about all the men she was meeting. We compared some dating notes. I was, at the time, involved with someone whom I had met online. Dimples told me about all the men she was corresponding with and talking to and going out with and how they were all hot to get her into bed and how she was having a hard time juggling all this and so on. I listened to her adventures in Match.comLand, tried to give some input when I could get a word in, and enjoyed my lunch. A week or so later she emailed, said she had a great time and we should do it again. I thought, "why not?" and I agreed. Lunch #2: We both arrived and were on our very best behavior. Over a delicious lunch of I-can't-remember-what everything went well. Dimples began telling me about the man she had met through Match.com and how hot he was for her. She told me all about her adventures in buying shoes, buying new clothes, getting her hair done, finding the right color (that, apparently, was not easy and caused her considerable distress), and about her new diet and all the things she was eating. I learned a lot about soy milk and fat-free cooking, and all the other skills she was acquiring, and tried to give some input when I could get a word in, and enjoyed my lunch. A week or so later she emailed, said she had a great time and we should do it again. This time we decided to invite a third party to help with the flow of conversation. NightStalker, being a brave man (and someone who carries a gun), agreed to join us. Lunch #3: NightStalker and I met at LobstaLand. Dimples didn't show. We had a lovely lunch, discussed writing (since both of us are writers), local politics and other subjects of mutual interest. No one got hurt. A week or so later she emailed, said she forgot about meeting us, and suggested we try it again. This time we decided to invite a friend of mine who had just lost her husband. I thought maybe it would be good for her to meet someone who had also recently lost a partner. Lunch #4: We all arrived and were on our very best behavior. Over a delicious lunch of I-can't-remember-what everything started out well. We talked about the board and things going on in Gloucester and upcoming activities that it would be good to get involved in. My friend talked a little bit about her situation and Dimples began to advise her to start dating again. She told her all about her adventures on Match.com, all the men she was meeting, how they were all hot for her. She suggested my friend buy new clothes, get her hair done, start dieting, and then meet more men, and proceeded to give her tips on how to word her ad for Match.com. Ladies and gentlemen, I know my behavior was shocking and I hope you won't think the worse of me for what happened next but Dimples is right, I did it. I snapped. I jumped up and screamed,
GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!!!!!
Thus ended my lunches with MissDimples.... My sincerest apologies who all who may have been present in LobstaLand that day. I was out of control and out of line and I promise never to do it again. Thanks for reading.
