For those die-hard Gypsy fans, you just don't get the psychology of someone who continually toots her own horn - the insecurity and low
self-esteem of such. Since nobody will listen to it face-to-face, she has to do it here. Pseudo-intellectualism at its worst.
Altered Annie I hardly think there's one pseudo-intellectual hanging their hat on this board, AA--and, even if there was *one*, how could one ever decide *which* poster would go to the head of that class, given the multiple-personalities and 24x7 tendency of the group?
I'm coming to the conclusion that people who pinpoint the personality disorders of others generally mirror their own failings.

Thanks, thinkin.... | ||
I'm coming to the conclusion that people who pinpoint the personality disorders of others generally mirror their own failings. Truer words were never spoken. You have to try to find humor in life. If you can't do that, what's the point? I refuse to take this subject seriously. Others may if they wish but to me it is little more than fodder for a fairly entertaining story. Use it however suits your purpose. Amen.

for a little while, the twilight of the gods and of us.

Since Dimps has a real job (unlike other people here) you'll be tapping away for some time.

Put up or shut up... Lefty, they are incapable of doing either... The bottomline is we all have things in our lives that are important to us and we will give them the priority that is important to us. AND people believe what they want to believe! Some people will believe Dimples, regardless of what the truth may be, and some people will believe me, regardless of what the truth may be. And some people will realize that this whole thing is utterly ridiculous and absurd and treat it like the form of mindless entertainment that it is. BackShore says, I'm more fascinated by the subtext than the story as written. He OWNS that subtext. It is his creation as much as the story is my creation and as much as Dimples' version is her creation. (However, for the sake of clarity, my friend who was widowed had been widowed for nearly a year when that lunch took place.) What we choose to believe is up to us...

I've been outside in the garden all morning. It's wonderful to be in the sunshine and in the dirt and be truly connected to something tangible that
matters. I would suggest the same for the perpetrators of this pathetic thread. Get a shovel and bury it already! Or just go outside.

I'm glad that works for you, vodka.
When I get done with work today, I'll try to take your advice.

I did not realize that there was work being done. I just figured it was idle time, which I would spend very differently.

I work at home. My work requires me to spend a lot of time online. When the day is over I rarely am around unless I have work to do in the evening, too.
