When I was a little kid I tried to imitate my brothers standing at the toilet...got pretty good at it...but they'd holler with laughter at me. The bums.

Not the little (youngest) bro - I remember once he grabbed his miniature wing wang and aimed right for my belly button - splat...he got it! The three of us
were ROFL uproariously...then the dragoness appeared...

Oops! You can't have silly fun! Go to your rooms with no dinner!

Close. But FIRST clean up the bloody mess! So we did, stifling giggles, and then the dragoness called us for dinner! Go figure... End of that story!

Did she stand over you with a stern expression and critique your performance?

o Realist o |

Nah...actually she tuned us out most of the time... It was those OTHER times...oy, oy, oy. Mood changes like ... kazum!

Just like my dad, totally unpredictable. PTSD symptoms to this very day.

PTSD-- not just a war experience induced trama in ones life.

Unless Realist's Mom was in a war... which I am guessing she wasn't back in her day...
it sounds more like Bi-Polar, with moods swings like you describe |

We have several bi/polar candidates around here and so be it statistically. We also have the gamut of personality types and disorders. Tell us all why we will
overcome our human limitations?

I'm quadripolar...
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

Back to the Dragoness for a moment - I suspect she was all of above plus hooked on sugar...hi-lo, hi-lo, hi-lo. Yes, B. - totally unpredictable. R.I.P., Mum.
Hope your existence is more peaceful for you wherever you are. It certainly is for those you left behind!
"PTSD symptoms to this very day." (Brain) Yep - I just accept them and move on, knowing they are my "buddies" for life.

Gang of One |

OK then:
Two brothers - maybe 7 and 8 years old. ...it was always the 'sword fights' - duelling streams of pee across the bowl before bedtime. It went further one night - then suddenly, a loud rapping on the bathroom door. "what are you doing?" "Nothing!" "Open this door" "No!" "Open it!" "OK." "What were you two doing?" "Erm..." 'You were looking up J****'s bottom, weren't you?" "No!" "Yes you were. And laughing." (At this point, we thought our lives were over...) "Look at me. Both of you. Right. There is nothing....nothing.... even REMOTELY funny about....about.....J****'s...oh god...J***'s bottom." At which point Dad fell helplessly to the floor clutching his stomach, and crying, he was laughing so damn hard. Salvation. Off the hook. I so, so miss him. |

GoO - great story - we certainly had fun as kids, didn't we? Hope you're still having childlike fun as an adult - gives a joie de vivre.**
** Literally it means "joy of living". In a broader sense, it's a "keen or buoyant enjoyment of life" :-) |
