I think a more interesting question would be, has the increase in gas prices changed your driving habits and/or what are you doing to compensate for the extra money you have to spend on gas? Though I don't pay much attention to gas prices (first, I'm not going to waste $5 in gas to save ten cents per gallon , and second, the bottom line is that I need my car, and the car needs gas, so I will be buying it regardless of price), I have curtailed frivolous trips. |

Frosty makes a good point here. Let's say your car gets 20 mpg and has a 15 gallon tank. If you drive somewhere to fill up for $3.50 instead of $3.60 you
save 15gal*$0.10/gal or $1.50 for a full tank. But if you drove an extra 10 miles round trip to get the savings, you burned 1/2 gallon of gas, or $1.75 worth,
causing a net loss of $0.25...oops.

$20.00 per week is all i'll pay for gas.
that takes me on my shopping rounds up the line..Trader Joe's, Target, etc. i grocery shop at he Middleton Market Basket and come home on rt62 so i always get gas at the place across from Farmer Browns..this week regular was $3.68 and have definitely changed my driving habits...i used to go to the Mall just because i had nothing better to do or ride up to Beverly just eat at Baha Fresh....not any more 1 trip per week..that's it
