Here you go, oakarina:
True art is moral: it seeks to edify life, not to debase it, to hold off, at least
for a little while, the twilight of the gods and of us.

That was quick, Gypsy, and a great photo of a tough location, but one which gets plenty of sunlight and rain.

Actually, oakarina, that was from last year. I know you love those rocks (so do I) so I was planning on getting out there to photograph them but haven't
had a chance yet.

Thanks for the nice comments, it really is fun to share these. A few more:
The first is charming Acorn Street, reported to be the most photographed street in Boston. It's no wonder. Then just a collection of street scenes and boxes. I tried to get as close to the boxes a I could so it would be easier to identify the plants.
More in the Italian garden style with symmetry and topiary greens in charge.
Very cool window boxes....the little horsetails are different!

Stunning window boxes! Wonder how they keep them glowing all summer... Thanks for the kitty, also, 99. And the comments.

Not sure about the horsetails, tho... What do you think?

Star, three of the properties had you enter through the front door, walk through the house and out the back door. They did not allow photos inside the houses for security reasons. A couple of them were stunning. |

i bet, 99
but i want to have a Beacon Hill Brownstone to myself just for about an hour or two... lounge around..make tea in the gourmet kitchen...use the bathroom, thumb through Money magazine on the brick courtyard....and just pretend i'm one of them for a while... then i'll go home...

An hour? How about a weekend a month May through December and while we're dreaming and a place in dee islands for Jan-April? Is that really too much to ask? |

Window boxes are an artform unto themselves. Some of those are gorgeous. There's a woman who used to be out on Gee Street (I think) who did fabulous window
boxes for people which incorporated a lot of herbs. Was it called "Goose Cove Flowers"or something like that? She did beautiful work.

Here is the last batch. My favorite garden of the bunch is the one in the last 4 photos. It was packed with color and variety and the house is no slouch
either. If anyone wants a copy of the map and the booklet that has written descriptions of the featured gardens just pm me. Only about 4 of the gardens were
visible from the road but the last is one that is. Hope y'all enjoyed the virtual tour!

Thanks Zanny! It's still a shade early for me to put containers out front, but I can start on the back because it's more protected. I do hope to get
over my fear of committment and put in more perrenials than annuals this year. Good luck!!

Beacon Hill Garden Tour. | ||

Not only wonderful gardens, terraces, alleyways, lanes, entrances, steps and stairs railings, window boxes, but also that old "woody" truck, or
van, which may have been what was once called a "beach wagon?" Or maybe it was once a delivery van, in the area? And that grumpy old lion's
face, contrasted with that darling kitten.
Wonderful Agent 99.
