Bravo! Bravo!

Jacoby Ellsbury is no slouch, either...really moves and has made some stupendous catches out there in center field, Poor Coco!

That was fantastic to watch. He deserves it. I imagine his parents are just beside themselves. How about the near collision and subsequent dropping of the ball
around the 2nd inning. great! Was it my imagination or were there a boatload of foul balls out there.

Very exciting! Lester pitched lights-out and seemed to get stronger in later innings (fastball 95+), much like Bucholz did last September. Hooray for Ellsbury
for helping to preserve it. I don't think it's possible to imagine the adrenaline that must have been surging through Lester in the 9th.
Kudos to Varitek for calling another beauty--his fourth no-hitter behind the plate. The other two potentials (Schilling, Pedro) ended when both pitchers shook his pitch call off. Coincidence?

Lester underwent massive chemo and radiation when he had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma Others who've gone thru that say it's totally debilitating and here he
with a mega no hitter.Very exciting.

Nobody deserved it more. I heard it was the first no hitter by a leftie for the Red Sox since 1956!
So true about the credit due Jason. He's so much a part of the pitching success all the time. And Jacoby has one helluva bright future in front of him. Two stolen bases on top of that save. Sheesh. |

Isn't it amazing? After years of anguish we are now raising a generation of Red Sox fans who think world series wins and no-hitters happen on a regular
basis.

SO CLOSE TO A PERFECT GAME. I agree. Ellsbury is just amazing. A real student of the game.

Jon Lester will donate his cleats and a used game ball from Monday's no-hitter to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. In addition to the Lester artifacts,
the Hall also requested C Jason Varitek's catching equipment after the Sox backstop became the all-time leader in no-hitters caught with four.
So cool. |

Tek has four no hitters. Think about that.
