All it takes for ANY of you to have your life fucked up royally is to run into the kind of scum I encountered that night, a Friday the 13th two years ago... and your life will be fucked up beyond recognition. Your status in the community matters not. Your clean criminal record mattes not. All that matters is a nose count -- if you are alone, as I was, the cops simply count noses... the scumbag I ran into was not alone. He had more noses on his side. And he injured himself when he tried to bust the window in my truck.

As a result, I had about $10,000 in legal expenses (including the PI I hired), my work was affected, my health was affected, and my time was occupied for almost 2 years. It mattered not that the thug's story was obviously bogus, at least to anyone with an IQ above 80. All that matterd was that it was EASY to charge me, based upon a nose count and the fact that the guy with more noses was injured. The cops who charged me didn't even have the decency to include my story in the police report. According to all the lawyers I met with, this kind of sloppy police work is standard practice in Gloucester.
Anyone who believes that you are innocent until proven guilty is an idiot. If I did not spend a LOT of time and money defending myself against OBVIOUSLY bogus charges, I would likely have been found guilty.
So, if you think I am unreasonably harsh when it comes to Gloucester cops, well, tough shit. They've earned my wrath.
And I am a politically active, law-abiding citizen.

My lawyers told me from day one that even if it were obvious that the person who accused me was a perjurer, the proscutors simply wouldn't care.
Apparently, all they care about is clearing calendars, preferably with as many checks as possible in the "won" box.
