I would not place bets on the outcome. I am not at all sure what will happen on Sept 16.

As a marketeer, I actually thought it what was pretty good. I got instantly that it was for AM Ferrante....

'marketeer'...that's quite the construct! (Gypsy...one does not 'lay' awake...one lies awake - truthfully. Ha! Pedantry...wot funn it

i thought it was quite smart teaser marketing, myself. |

As a marketer you should realize that only someone who is familiar with AM Ferrante could possibly understand what the meaning of the sign means. Definetaly
not the brightest way to advertise yourself! Case is pretty much proven here. Most here are familiar with her and still didnt put it together.

It's a TEASER campaign....no the whole thing, HDYR. Does everything have to hit you between the eyes straight away to be effective? jesus....

Notice how it is already working? A few people didn't get it, but they asked around... now they know... even fewer didn't knwo whoh seh was, and now
they do...

IMO Sign is a joke now that I know what it is! | ||
|
Praise to Nightstalker for asking the question about the sign(s)!
I have only seen one on Washington Street just past the O'Maley ball
field entrance. I know who she is AND what she is running for and had not a CLUE nor did I care enough to even ask what the sign was about! You know me, I post
a new subject at a whim....Thank you for asking NS because I thought incorrectly (like Realist) that it also had something to
do with a ham radio station (which I know/care nothing about.)
I would not say the marketing worked at all whether we are talking about it or not! We are just asking what the ______ thing means! THAT is a statement in itself if we have to ASK???!!!!! Her sign just solidifies how she cannot capture her/an audience of even those that know of her and her quest to unseat Rep. Verga. Perhaps if I had seen one on a slower road I could have read the fine print! Maybe I was wrong about Sefatia's sign ("Godmother of Gloucester") because that definately caught my eye! My apologies, Sefatia - you win, hands down in marketing over Ms. Ferrante! Maybe Ms. Ferrante should have gone more cheesey or hired a marketing manager if she really wanted the job. I will vote for Verga hands down - age is a state of mind (and certainly never hurt Sen. Ted) - and age discrimination is against the law in the "real world" of business (if you don't get caught!) Politics seems to be a free for all and is not governed by the same anti-discrimination laws! Look at our presidential election: people interviewed are saying they are
worried because McCain is too old and OBama too young. What about standing on issues or designated party not age! Unbelievable!

I looked at it sort of the other way - I had no idea what the signs meant and I asked and asked until someone "in the know" told me. Now the first
six people I asked will notice the sign the next time and probably make an effort to find out what it means. What I just did, and what the person who posted
the original question did, was exactly what the signs were meant to do - get people talking about her campaign. She's a first time campaigner and she needs
to generate interest. Kinda like those Hollywood billboards that ask "Who is John Smith?"
There will be other ways to differentiate herself from the incumbent in a more substantial way. Even if she doesn't beat Verga, she gets her name out there for another time. And that's the point.

allow the same causes to put us through the same thing again!"

I figure that Ferrante and Verga will split the Italian vote and Astrid will win.

I meant it like raqueteer...a joke. Meaning I like to "market" as a hobby. And although talking about it may not translate into votes....it might get
more people to listen to what she has to say. She has time.

Once you've figured out the signs' meaning, it becomes "very clever". Before you figure out the signs' meaning, it's a provocative
puzzle causing confusion. Is this how Ms. Ferrante operates in the real world?

Only because Greg won't run against his father. Greg's a good guy, though, and I bet he succeeds some time in the future.

Yo Mothership...its not about age, its about effectiveness...and Tony has provided none of it. He's the Chairman
of the Committee on Veterans Affairs...A CHAIRMAN...and the guy still barely has any clout among the leadership in the State House. At a time when
Gloucester is facing a near fiscal disaster, its about bringing home the bacon for the city, and Mr. Verga just is not up to the task.
So what are we left with? An ineffective and inarticulate, quid pro quo driven politician who failed to recognize that the citizens of the 5th Essex District have awakened, and we're not going to stand for business as usual any longer. AMF or Astrid would at least, provide a push of new energy in representation of the things we need in this district. Tony's voice and efforts just are not getting it done. We All Deserve Better. |

MTP is right, but I'm not sure there are enough in the City who realize how little has been done by Verga, it's so easy to check off the same box with
a familiar name without having to think about it...Nor am I sure there is a viable enough candidate to knock him out of his long held seat. Would love Astrid
in there, but we'll have to see if she can overcome the tax/debt issues. As for the other woman, I didn't even realize she was running, I thought it
was Tony & Astrid only.

"Tony's voice and efforts just are not getting it done. '
Tony's got a nice singin voice....he is an incompetent legislator and the other guy ain't much better. |

Eventually Tony will have to explain what he has done in Boston if Ann Margaret and Astrid do their jobs. I sure would like to hear what legislative
breakthroughs he has been responsible for. As for voting for nice guys, we have had plenty of them.
