The man was a career military officer and has no need to appease the peanut gallery which is this board. How anyone, school committee, Mayor etc can try to thow this into his lap os perposterous. Like I said before, the only thing GHS is really good at is being a bastard factory. Stats show that those 17 babies will grow to have babies in their teens and the cycle will continue. Another dip into my wallet because some gilr lacked self confidence .. blah! As for Kirk, the woman is way over her head and will be a one term mayor because more than just teachers vote. They were buffaloed before but not again.

Sullivan doesn't remember where he heard that! Sullivan claims other school district guidance counselers tell students to go to glosta HS, if they want to get pregnant! If true he is obligated to report this breach in ethics! BUT HE CAN"T PROVE IT! or even cite his source! Joe loves the sound of his own voice....always believe's his own bullshit. He's a bully on a small stage. He can get away with swearing at kids and threatening underlings but NOW he is the victim of his own idiocy! He should never have been hired ...it's called the "Peter Principle"!

She has done more in that time to bring credibility back to the mayor's post and city than the former mayor did in 6 YEARS. She is still in the process of clearing the decks of the piss poor managers and administrators who have failed this city year after year with the status quo. She certainly has a way to go and who is to say the new managers she brings in will not also fail but give her credit for having the guts to do it. She was handed a stink bomb by the Superintendent, the HS principal and the School Committee Chair and is doing the best she can with it. Please STOP pointing fingers at her when the blame squarely falls on the three stooges who started this mess by not know the first thing about handling the press and when to shut up.

MAybe he just got real candid with her and did not realize how it would look in print. I have more of an issue with an elected official getting paid and then appearing on TV looking like a manager at McD's.

She has no managers with depth left in the city, she has driven them out through micromanagement. Wake up people, when the bond rating people find out about the mass exodus in upper management, especially the treasurer, our costs are going to skyrocket. She spent $24,000 for an audit that came up blank and the paper supports this? Mr Kirk must have some input there. The paper has been silent on the killing off of managers, stinks of a coverup to me, not a word printed on the bailout of the treasurer. Still no DPW director, operations manager, plant operations manager, auditor, purchaseing agent, on and on and on. Then we have the preggo fiasco, another opportunity for the Kircus to get some press coverage and her picture on TV. She is a megalomaniac and will fly this city into a smoking hole in the ground real soon.

BUT the pact was made AFTER they were prego not before.... the fact that he's a career military officer ? i don't see the relavency....But it would have been better if a they hired a career educator.

The jury is still out on the performance of her regular duties. She might be making some good changes. Hopefully this press conference isn't typical of her decision making capabilities.

Someone made a good post about him .... somewhere in one of these dozen threads ... that he does care about his students, helping them find a place in school. I'm with Mick .... guessing he confused the facts in his frustration over the situation, not ever envisioning this firestorm. But a fire it is ..... how this all shakes out ... how it all should shake out .... I dunno. I'm not ready to condemn him, or Kirk .... because I don't know the facts. Who knows for sure what they've talked about. The I-heards and the he-saids, she-saids flying around here ....
