As a relative outsider to this process, could I add just one observation? I think that everyone in this issue handled the media aspects poorly. Firstly, Mr.
Farmer should not have relied on just e-mail to communicate his desires on how to handle the media on this issue. Since he must have known that the high
school personnel would be especially targeted, he should have picked up the phone and called Mr. Sullivan and had him direct all media inquiries to his office.
Then he should have had a prepared statement to hand to the media --- one that had been reviewed by the mayor. Mr. Sullivan, knowing that this issue could be
explosive and damaging to the school and the community, should have on his own directed all media inquiries to the superindentant's office for any official
comment. The mayor, not having the chance to speak to Mr. Sullivan directly, should have stayed away from charactorizing Mr. Sullivan's comments, instead
focusing on the issues of the teen pregnancies itself. The media can be like a runaway train, and the best way to control it is to shut up!

not have the chance to speak to Dr. Sullivan sugar? she never made an attempt. She does that by picking the one to be thrownunder the bus for the issue and
throws them.

Wow! Everyone from the mayor on down should go just because a few high school girls got pregnant. This is just getting too blown out of proportion. Like they
are at fault for them getting pregnant in the first place. So they blew it with the media. (the ones who blew this thing up in the first place) I think
Sullivan, Farmer and Mayor Kirk are doing a fine job. They were lobbed a grenade. Trying to deal with a failing infrastructure, huge revenue shortages etc.
This was the last thing on any of their radar screens. I wonder how some of the so called "experts" on this BB would of handled it. Just let it go.

So, I think I'm beginning to suspect Lucky miiiight have a teeny agenda here - which has little to do with the issue at hand.
Just guessing, though... |

Dr. Sullivan's letter was perfectly worded. If the letter was penned with the help of an attorney, then the attorney is well worth his or her fee. I
"breathlessly await" Carolyn Kirk's explanation of how she came to report to the national media that Dr. Sullivan's memory "failed"
and was "foggy" when pressed on the matter when she never spoke with him nor attempted to contact him at all. I won't hold my breath on that. I
suspect that Kirk and Farmer want Sullivan out because his priority IS the kids and NOT the corrupt system. If they try to make Dr. Sullivan the fall guy for
telling the truth....they may just find a real fight on their hands.
