Every owners manual recommends against a basement installation. Stone, concrete, foundation walls absorb so much radiant heat, the whole purpose of the stove
is defeated. Go for the hearth mount.

we have one and I love it; bought it in Hampton Falls, but there is a place on Pond RD that sells them.
We service our own. Pellets burn about a bag per day. We have an inverter ( cost 125 bucks) with a car battery will keep in running in case of power outage. The Mrs. might not like it; generates dust but a warm cozy heat. We heated our home this past winter for a total $1300 ( one oil tank and 3 tons pellets) |

ifiwanna -- that's 150 40-pound bags, right? How much do you pay for a bag of pellets, and is the price rising? Do you buy by the pallet?
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.-Theodore Roosevelt, The Kansas City Star, May 7, 1918 |

40 bags = a ton. it costs $275 / ton ( delivered) We have 2 tons delivered in the summer.
We purchase another ton before Christmas. ( need space to put the third ton!) Like the New England brand best. It burns best I have found |

We were told one bag would last between 1 - 1 1/2 days. $6 per bag and a pallet is about $279. I asked about the cost of electricity and was told about $100
for the season. Who knows, with everyone running out to buy pellet stoves, the price of pellets could skyrocket next!

Smith Hardware (ACE) sent out a flier offering wood pellets at $249.00 a ton, if you pay in full by 7-10 you get free delivery. According to the flier its
premium grade wood , what ever that means.
We are in the process of ordering a new wood burning stove but it won't burn pellets. |

Just heard on the news that it will cost the average homeowner in New England between $2,500 and $3,000

We found out today that our oil bill (we have been on a locked in budget plan for the year) will be going up $350 per month! That is on top of what we are
already budgeted now! We can afford the hike, but there are so many people who cannot! We had been waiting for the oil co. to send our budget plan amount
for next year, and we finally stopped there today to find out what the hold up is. They said that because the price goes up so much and so often, it has been
difficult for them to set a fixed price for 2008-2009, but to figure on at least $350 more per month!! I'm shocked to say the least!

I have electric heat. I keep the whole house about 50 all winter. Bathrooms are at 60. I have a wood stove here in my living room and I crank her up all winter
and keep the door shut. I spend most of my time in here anyhow when weather is nasty--TV & computer in here & the view so it only makes sense. But the
price of wood will also start to go up--I am all set with about 3 cord saved. In different degrees of seasoning. I refuse to turn the electric heat up. House
can get really c-o-l-d.
