I'm proud to be an American, too. The trouble is, being an American these days is fraught with peril. We are hated worldwide. We've lost many Constitutional rights. We have the biggest prison population in the world. Our president and vice president are out of control war freaks. Our infrastructure is a joke. Our once-mighty economy is in a shambles. Our failed energy policies could lead to the worst depression the world has ever seen. Many of us have given up our foreclosed homes. Many have lost their life savings due to speculation and lax government oversight of the securities industry. The US consumes more drugs than any other nation. Guns and related violence are out of control. We can barely take a shit without government regulating our every move. I'm so proud to be an American. |
