Great sots Jim b . All most as good as being there. No boat on top ?? I can remember they put some old skiff on the top of the fire when I lived in Rockport
many years ago.
Why , be so mean to others ya don't know ?

Great! I remember the "custom" in Rockport was that you had to stay until the bonfire collapsed.
Thanks for posting.

If you look at the Lanes Cove webcam, the fire is still going strong at 5:30 am

I know some of our pallets were in there but holy smokes there was a ton more than we contributed. I wonder where they got the majority of them.
Beautiful photography Jim. |

Excellent shots, Jim! Thanks.
What was with the little shack on top this year? When I saw it earlier in the day, no decorations or anything. ??? |

RE: Pallets -- there were several loads from Smith's, some from Wolf Hill, some from Rockport D.P.W., several individual pick-up truck loads, and one
semi-truck load from Beverly Pallet - in Ipswich (down from two or three in the past).
RE: Jim's photos -- you must have been standing on my front lawn! (which is not a problem , the pics were worth it) -- hope you got a tan from the heat! :) |

Naw, I wasn't on anyone's lawn. I was shooting a 50mm lens on a full frame camera so I was on the street pretty close to the action. In the ones the
show the firefighters I was about 5 feet away from them.
Is your lawn higher than the street? I may take you up on the invite next year for some different angles. |

So did anyone else notice the silent snowman protest on King Street?
While I was among those horrified by the original Frosty meltdown, I thought the "Frosty lives" effort last year was pretty funny and that the guys shouldn't have been sanctioned for it. These year's topper seemed lacking in creativity.

Was the topper anything besides the little brown shack, Annie? I saw it hours before and that was it, but didn't see it before it went up.
