Doesn't the zoning require either a fence or evergreens between the residents and the Mall? In the case of self storage unit facilities it is.

Wow - are the people in those homes lucky! They just have to hop the fence to buy their new underwear. What a relief that must be. Thank God for Gloucester

Squig, Could you post your pictures still? I would love to send them to someone who used to live in the neighborhood and is now across the country. They fade
in too quickly to really look at in your slideshow if you have not seen the area in a while.

One of your slides states that the neighbors are being asked to tear down their fences, that should come to no surprise to anyone willing to do a little
research. Some of the malls neighbors have expanded their yards into the previously unused land, oh well I guess they rolled the dice and lost. Unless they
want to hire legal representation and try to claim "squatters rights"

no...the abutters know they were infringing on land that wasn't theirs and have no problem backing away....the ones i know, anyway

Chances are they will NOT prevail. Been through this. If they are not paying taxes on the additional land they took, they aren't entitled to squat. Many people believe the "squatter's rights" or adverse possession law is simply "use of the land for 20 plus years", it's not that simple. Ask someone who has tried this avenue... |

If the real owners have been paying taxes on the property, even low taxes due to the wild state of the land, the chances of claiming it by adverse possession
seem pretty slim.
