Floating House |

Does anyone know what the deal is with the floating house right near exit 12? It's in the ocean on the right as you drive into Gloucester. My husband
says it's for the ducks, but I think he's kidding

Are you talking about the marina? where all the boats are?

The house is private, and the owner has been putting it out for many years. There are similar floating houses in Essex Bay. I don't believe most are used
for long term occupancy but serve as summer camps, places to hang out.

Wow, that's a pretty awesome setup. I've never seen anything like it, but then again, I've only been living here for a couple years.

Down on the Cape (the "other" cape...) people put those out during scalloping season (bay scallops) and use them to shuck the scallops.

His place inspired me to build my pond to put a house in it.

Thanks gulls.
I too wonder about the refuse. Are there even any local pumper boats? |

Doesn't Brett own the Shed? (port a potty) Maybe he has one in there! How they dump the bucket is another question entirely!

Better yet 12 volt water maker charged with photovoltaic. Inverter for washer and dryer, geothermal heat pump, and a small amount of LP for cooking, passive
solar as needed as well. Tide driven generator as well as a wind gen to add to the bank of batteries to help run the put-er and all your other 12 volt stuff.
Don't forget the solar oven. Think about it .----Freedom -- 3 rd grade stuff. A little fireplace for ambiance to clean the shore line of tide walkers
couldn't heart.
