Well, this thread has been great. I hope it continues on. You know my mother use to say that there should be a newspaper and a television station that only reported "good news." I know some people think good news doesn't sell, but boy it makes one feel good.

Looking back now I realize how gentle and kind my parents were. They really taught my brother and I from their actions how to be good people. Whenever someone was in need they were there to help. Dad would often pull the car over to the side of the road and hand a familiar homeless person $10-$20 to go get a bite to eat. Lord only knows if they spent it on food, but Dad never asked. I never heard the man swear in my entire life and I'm in my late 40's. It didn't matter if you were rich or poor, or what your background was. Dad treated you with total respect. He asked nothing in return. Every birthday, or Christmas holiday we would ask him what he would like to have and he always gave the same answer, "PEACE in the world." God forbid he ever took recognition for anything. He always handed it to the next person. And Mom, well she was just about the sweetest women on the face of the earth.
