Gotten the state to spread out mandates to lessen sticker shock. I hope that also gives her time to lobby for state and federal help.
Fired some managers who, whether their fault or not, were managing disfunctional organizations. I hope she does something about police leadership, but that is presently before the city council. Appointed a harbor plan coordinator and held many meetings around the city to hopefully build consensus. The first result is her proposal to rezone the Fort. Held a really self destructive press conference. Damon |

Presented the city with a clear analysis of where we stand and why. However, not cheery or very optimistic we know why we are bound up in ourselves. This early
attack of the Mayor is unfounded and unfair. I wonder why people are expecting decades of mismanagement to disappear in 6 months. It is quite naive.

Bingo! The mayor got rid of alot of dead wood, useless, hanger-ons on in City Hall, that was a feat in itself. Lots more work to go, but this is still a new admin, kudos to Mayor Kirk so far. |

The mayor seems to be getting a sense of where the city is and where she wants to take the city, she has run into a lot of unexpected roadblocks that have
distracted her. On the negative side she appears to be trying to micro manage every department and has bogged herself down losing focus on the bigger picture.
It would be in her best interest to let the managers she trusts run the day to day operations and concentrate on long term solutions for the mess she
inherited. With only a two year term she may be trying to do everything too fast.
Don't blame me, I voted for Muffy.

Did anyone go to the water/sewer meeting? I think I just heard the Mayor say that the rates WILL be going up during the School Committee meeting? Does anyone
know what the rate will be?
Brain and Oak-I just want to thank you for the hilarious thoughts over the past few days from the other night. This is what keeps popping in Gloucester needs a "Spelling Bee"-"Nope" and "Oh quick do your PM's now." Oh and the classic" have another pint or two."lol
