The last time we held a forum, we had about 6 local teens get up and speak about how alcohol affected their lives. Some were just angry kids, some abused,
raped, molested,you name it. I was so amazed at the courage it took to get up there and tell their personal stories.
Although, the night went well,they were very disappointed that our "paid" community leaders were not present. They were told the mayor was going to be there but he sent his assistant instead who left before they got to speak. I hope this time our leaders will rally to support these kids who are trying so hard to make it through school and become good citizens although they are faced with the negatives that adults create for them. It will be Thursday, April 3rd at Cruiseport. I hope I posted this in the right spot....if not....could someone let me know the appropriate place to post things like this?

We were always allowed to have a little glass (remember those little
jelly jar glasses?) of beer on Sundays or special occasions. My father drank beer or wine, my mother rarely drank at all. Most of my friends' families were
the same --- I never thought drinking was a big deal. Today I drink a glass or two of wine now and then but usually go for weeks without alcohol --- too many
carbs.
