She rotates - give it a few minutes and you'll be staring directly at her rump!
NOW - direct shot of rump. So...appears that she rotates 180 degrees every 80 minutes or so...excellent view of plumage. ~ a popsicle smile reaps what it sows ~

Woohooo!!!! Good news! I had a feeling that was happening this afternoon. They were both in the nest, VERY active, squirming around, both checking the eggs
frequently.

Yes, weren't they tho! Is the female the one with the freckles and smaller? (NOT assuming the size is an indicator but those cute freckles might be! LOL)

I can't get it....See if they move the eggs around the nest, not just roll themto keep the sack fluid, but move em north or south like? curios if they use
the sun to help keep the little buggers equaly warm. The poor one on the north side might get a chill.

Not moving the eggs placement, MM. Just rolling them a bit with their beaks.

Now if the egg was laid today, is today the chicks birthday? Or will it be when the chick peeps out of the shell? How long does it take to hatch? questions ,I
feel like a nervous mother. I'm having a hot flash.

Hmmmm.....Vista I've avoided like the plague.....ask the Brain man.
Realist, the female is usually larger although with the cam's fisheye lens, size is deceptive, but females also have more spots on the chest.....described sometimes as a "necklace". I have trouble telling them apart much of the time because they're hunkered down in on the eggs and you can't get that good a view. Whichever parent is there this a.m. is very attentive and vigilant. Seems to be waiting for sushi takeout to be be delivered for breakfast. Heheheh. |

What browsers are you using? I have Vista Business and I use Firefox. I get that message but when I click through it works fine. However when I try it with
Internet Explorer it doesn't always work.

Internet Explorer, here. That must be the problem.

Internet Explorer really stinks in my opinion. It also balks at XML files. If you have AOL and use the browser that they supply (AOL Internet Explorer)
you'll be lucky to get anything that they have decided they don't want you to get. In my opinion (and experience) AOL can be worse than a virus.

I agree with Gypsy, dewey, but I'm using AOL and IE and don't have a problem. Not at all sure why---must be just dumb luck----or might be because I
don't use Vista.
Isn't it fascinating to watch them? I've noticed that just after the production of an egg, they're especially vigilant and defending of the nest. That particular nest is fairly well protected, but creatures like crows and raccoons are the usual suspects who go after the eggs. I'm pulling for one more egg like last year! Come on, Mama!!
